Paints:
Cadmium Yellow Light
Cadmium Red Light
Alizarin Crimson
Ultramarine Blue
Cerulean Blue Hue, or (Viridian)
Raw Umber
Titanium, Flake or Mixed White (large tube)
Yellow Ochre
Venetian Red or Burnt Siena
Ivory Black

Folding French Easel (half-size or full size) or other lightweight folding easel
Wooden Palette (minimum 12x16 inches) to hold or set on the easel
Palette knife
Palette cup for medium (must clip onto palette)
Assorted white bristle brushes  (sizes 2, 6, 10, 12, 18, etc.)
Cotton rags  (old T shirts, flannel sheets, anything pure cotton)
Brush washer or large jar with screen insert and top, for solvent
Drawing board or thin smooth plywood boards (to clip canvas onto)
Clips (small and innocuous), pushpins and/or masking tape
Small sketchpad and charcoal or pencil
Wide brim hat of neutral color
Insect repellent
Bottles of drinking water
White long-sleeved shirt to protect against sunburn
Extra layers of clothes


Medium: 1 part Damar varnish
2 parts stand oil or refined linseed oil
3 parts turpentine
or prepared medium

Solvent: Odor-free Turpenoid or mineral spirits
 Airtight container for transporting solvent

Painting Surfaces:
4 primed canvases, any sizes 16 x 20 to 24 x 30
6 or 8 additional smaller painting surfaces such as unmounted canvas (will be cut to the size of your mounting board or taped to it), cardboard, masonite panels, watercolor paper or heavy drawing paper.

NOTE:
Try to be as portable as possible, so that everything you need for a painting session can be in your folding easel, i.e. paints, brushes, medium, palette, palette knife, canvas, brushwasher, rags.
