You can do the complete course with a #10 Round Watercolor Brush. Look for one that is part synthetic and part natural bristle. I recommend a #10 Winsor Newton Sceptor Gold 101 Series or Robert Simmons #10 Short Handle Round Sapphire Brush. Series S85 Watercolor Round (Blue handle). Optional extra brush: 1" flat wash brush

John Pike Palette or other large white covered palette.
*PAPER
140 lb. cold press, acid-free sheets or block. Suggested brands: Arches Watercolor Block, 12 x 16 or Artistico Acquarello, 12 x 18.
