For Oil Paints:
            - 2 small jars with lid to hold thinner
            - paint thinner (odorless mineral spirits)
            - painting medium, preferrably Winsor Newton Liquin

            -1 very small container to hold medium

For Acylic Paints:
            -water in jar with lid
            -painting medium, preferrably Liquitex matt medium

            -1 very small container to hold medium

For Both:
            - a roll of paper towels - preferrably Bounty or Viva
            - ‘Wet Ones’
            - canvas boards  9 x 12 ”
            - a  24 x 24” piece of homosote to pin canvas board
onto while working
            - push pins
            - disposable paper pallet - the larger, the better 12x16 preferred
            - soft  nylon flat brushes or filberts - sizes-(2)1”, (2) 3/4”
Recommended paint colors:
black, permanent yellow medium or cadmium yellow, permanent red medium or windsor red, or grumbacher red or cadmium red, ultramarine blue, permanent green or windsor green or cadmium green, alizarin crimson, yellow ocher, raw umber, raw sienna, and a large tube of titanium white.

-buy “student grade” paints, these are cheaper. all major paint companies make both professional and student grade. ask a salesperson to help you.

-oil painters will use odorless mineral spirits only. this can be bought in 5-gallon containers at Home Depot

For painting outside:
 also need -portable easel, hat with brim, bug spray
