registration policies

Full payment must accompany registration. You will not be considered registered for the class until full payment is made. Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

Classes without sufficient enrollment prior to the first class date will be cancelled. If a class or workshop is canceled by the school, students are entitled to a full refund or may transfer to another class during the same session, space permitting.

Refunds will be issued 2-3 weeks after cancellation.

withdrawal from a class
Students may obtain a refund less a $20 handling fee if withdrawal notification is received prior to the day of the first class.
A refund may be obtained after the first class, less a $20 handling fee and cost of the attended class. The $20 handling fee may be waived if a tuition credit is applied prior to the second class meeting.
No refunds are given after the second class meeting. Classes are transferable if request is made five (5) working days prior to the first class.

withdrawal from a workshop
Workshop refunds are granted, less $20, with notification 5 days prior to the start of the workshop. No refunds are given for withdrawals after this time, with the exception of a workshop with a waiting list, where replacement of student is guaranteed ($20 cancellation fee will still apply)

missed classes
Classes missed by students will not be rescheduled or refunded.
Class content is not required to be made up.

drop ins
With space available and instructor permission, regular students may drop in on a class for an additional fee. Please contact the school for fees. Drop-ins are not applicable for workshops.

Late registrations are welcome with space available and instructor's permission. Full payment must accompany registration. Class fees will not be pro-rated. Payment may be made by cash, check, or charge card (Visa, MasterCard).

If you are ineligible for a refund, but have not attended any sessions of the class, you may request an acknowledgement from the school office, which will enable you to claim your unused tuition as a tax-deductible contribution.

Unless otherwise noted, adult classes are open to ages 16 and above. Smoking is not permitted in the building. Cleanup is everyone's responsibility. Always clean your work area before leaving — this includes floors, tables, tools and equipment. Your cooperation is appreciated. Students are required to remove any personnel property from LAA at the end of each class. LAA is not responsible for lost/stolen items. Students must respect LAA property, including art, furnishings, equipment, and supplies. Student and visitors must walk while in the building.

student behavior in the classroom
LAA reserves the right to ask disruptive student to leave. Tuition will not be refunded for disruptive behavior. Only currently registered students may use the LAA studios and equipment, and only during the period (duration of class) for which the student is registered. Students are not allowed in the studios between classes, without school staff permission.

inclement weather
We follow the class cancellation schedule of Loudoun County Public Schools. This applies to both children’s and adult classes and workshops.

make up date(s)
Make-up date(s) will be coordinated with the instructor, who will notify students at the next meeting. In most instances, make up class will be scheduled during the break week between sessions. For hurricanes, tornados, etc. turn on the radio for news updates. If immediate danger, the stairway going to the 2nd floor is the safest area in the building.
