How To Photograph
Your Own Artwork
Whether you are an amateur or professional artist, it is important
to show your photographic artwork in its best light. Beautiful and accurate representations are a MUST when you apply to art shows, interview galleries, prepare portfolios for potential clients or just show your latest creations to your family and friends! This workshop will give you the tools you need. Correct techniques for lighting and shooting your artwork – from high gloss oil paintings to pastels under glass and everything in between – will be demonstrated. You will learn the most effective setup for using a digital camera and lights. You will see differences as we compare photographs taken using the properly lit method versus “point and shoot.” You will receive instruction on color correction techniques and perspective, printing and electronic submission. Purchasing the proper equipment, where to buy and how much to spend will also be covered.

Get Me Started Series
Always wanted to paint or draw, but afraid to get started? Afraid of the cost? Afraid of the mess? Not sure how to begin? Then come have fun with us. Feel what it’s like to push oil or acrylic paint around on canvas. Or make color washes with watercolor. Or feel how patels perform on paper. Learn some basic techniques without the initial investment. We’ll supply the materials the tools and the know-how to help you get started toward a life-long love of art. Must pre-register.

Models Needed
The Loudoun Academy of the Arts is always in need of clothed and nude models for our Painting and Drawing classes and our two Open Studios. Morning, afternoon and evening positions available. Warm, serious and professional atmoshphere. $12 - $15 per hour. Please call 703-777-8043.
A New Gallery in Town
