Trisha Adams
Trisha Adams was a graphic artist and designer for 15 years before transitioning to fine art in 2001. Her background as a designer is evident in her preference for bold, loosely rendered compositions. Adams is known for her use of color. Landscapes and still life are her favorite subjects.

Mary Amberson
Mary Amberson received her BS in Art from the University of Maryland and advanced painting and drawing studies at Corcoran School of Art, The Art League and a variety of internationally and nationally renowned portrait artists. She is also trained in Video Production and Direction for Montgomery Community Televisionand has worked as a Senior Graphic Artist and coordinator for Booz Allen and Hamilton.


Pat Blair
Pat Blair has been a professional calligrapher for over 20 years, being owner of the lettering studio, “Calligraphy & Design,” in New York, and currently in Virginia. Her work has been published in the Calligrapher’s Engagement Calendar, Letter Arts Review, Tabellae Insatae, and Martha Stewart Weddings. She teaches at the Loudoun Academy of the Arts, and has been on the faculty of the 21st International Calligraphy Conference in Boston, Massachusetts. She has just completed serving two years as the President of the Washington Calligrapher’s Guild in Washington, DC. She is currently the national chairperson for the US Postal Service’s “Graceful Envelope Contest.”
Pat’s love of pointed pen lettering led her to her study of Copperplate and Spencerian letterforms. She uses these styles in her invitation designs, which is her specialty. Her custom designs are available locally through CJ Kard in Colorado Springs, and her clients include Georgetown University, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, the Vice-President’s Residence, and The White House. Pat is currently the head calligrapher for The White House.

Jeanette Burkle
An award-winning local photographer and owner of Galie Photography, Jeanette specializes in environmental portraits of families and children. Her fine art photography, which mixes the mediums of pastel and photography, is exhibited in regional shows. Jeanette is a member of the Virginia Photographers Association.

Martha Cammack
Martha has an MFA in sculpture from Boston University. She sculpts animals and figures in stone and wood, and she also paints in oil.

Timothy Chambers
Tim trained in the tradition of American masters, receiving his early art instruction form his father, distinguished painter William T. Chambers, and later pursued over ten years of apprentice studies with some of America’s best painters, including Richard Lack, Henry Hensche, and Cedric B. Egeli. Through these apprenticeships and personal studies, his work is influenced by such painters as Tarbell, Chase, Hawthorne, Sorolla, and Zorn among others. Their work, plus the European masters whose work hangs in museums continue to inspire him, along with the works of his peers. His work is featured in collections in the United States and Europe. Tim paints and teaches in beautiful rural Virginia, where he lives with his beautiful wife and children.

Jin Chung
Jin attended Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving a degree in Communications Arts and Design with a Certificate of Excellence. He studied at the Art League with Danni Dawson, Robert Liberace and Kurt Schwarz. Jin has received many prestigious awards including “The Norman Rockwell Museum at Stockbridge” awarded by the NYC Society of Illustrators.

Michael Davis
Michael graduated from Shepherd University with a BFA in Painting in 2000 and then attended the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, MD. His work can be seen in private and public collections throughout the country.

Kathi Scholz Fertig
Kathi graduated from Philadelphia College of Art with a BFA in painting. She makes her living as a mural painter, free-lance art writer and art critic, and painting instructor in art centers, college and with private students.

Nancy Frank
Nancy is a potter with a successful business, making and selling her artwork at local shows. She has experience teaching children and adults and has a fun, creative approach to clay.

Bonnie Harvey
Bonnie is a graduate of George Mason University. She pursues artistic endeavors enriching and strengthening her skills. Bonnie specialty is teaching art to children.

Penny Hauffe
Penny Hauffe enjoyed art lessons, private and group, for much of her childhood, received honors in art in high school and after a BA at Oxford in Philosophy and Psychology, had the great opportunity to study under Roger Barcilon at the Gemini School of Illustration in England. Four years and an honors diploma later, she embarked on a career in fine art. Troll Books, Pearson Education, Microsoft, and Vivendi Games are among her illustration clients, while Northern Virginia Graphics, Loudoun Times Mirror and Big Sesh Studios have been among her employers. Full time freelancing now, she spends her time teaching art, and painting portraits, murals and fine art for local
art shows. She loves drawing and painting and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for art with her students. Her work can be seen at www.pennypaint.com , at Curves in Purcellville and at All the Kings Horses in Leesburg.

Fred Hetzel
Fred has a BFA degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1982. He studied at the Schuler School of Art in Baltimore and more recently at Vermont Studio School. He is a founding faculty member at the Loudoun Academy.

Carmen Howell
Carmen attended the Universities of Chile and New Mexico and has 23 years teaching experience. She started a school art programs at L.V.C.C. and Loudoun Country Day School. She exhibits at Gallery 222, Washington D.C. and internationally.

Dell Keathley
An award-winning realistic painter, Dell paints still lifes in oil and watercolor. She exhibits in solo and group shows nationally and internationally, and has taught for over ten years.

Christine Lashley
Christine Lashley earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, having previously studied in Paris at the Parsons Art Institute and the Sorbonne. She has works in private and corporate collections throughout the country including large-scale installations, murals and printed material. Her art has shown in numerous local and national juried shows and continues to win many top awards.

Tia Maggio
Tia is a graduate of Pratt Institute and has a background in graphic design and advertising as well as fine art and art history. Tia has also worked with children in libraries for 14 years and has been a pastel artist for 25 years.

Laney Oxman
Laney received her BFA from the Corcoran College of Art and her masters from Temple University, Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Her work has exhibited at the White House, The National Museum of American Art, The Renwick Gallery and a host of other museums, presidential libraries and galleries throughout the country. Laney's work is also in the permanent collections of The Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York and The Virginia Museum, Richmond...to name a few.

Connie has a BS Journalism (Advertising Sequence) University of MD, College Park 1990 AAS Fashion Institute of Technology (Concentration in illustration) New York, NY 1996. Connie has done professional mural work and decorative furniture painting.

Kurt Schwarz
Kurt Schwarz paints still lifes, landscapes and portraits. He worked as an illustrator before attending The George Washington University, where he graduated with a BA in fine arts. Kurt apprenticed with renowned portrait and still life painter Danni Dawson. He currently exhibits his work at Gallery 222 in Leesburg and teaches painting at The Art League School in Alexandria and the Loudoun Academy of Arts. He exhibits at Gallery 222 and elsewhere.

Christy Slone
Christy attended Illinois State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. She did design work for the government for over 10 years, then began her own graphic design company which she still runs. Christy also founded a successful program teaching art to children in Loudoun County.

Libby Stevens
Libby attended Temple University/Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. She has been working exclusively in pastels for the last ten years, participating in workshops.

Dana Thompson
Dana is an honors graduate from Radford University
with a BFA in Art. She worked for 25 years as a
Graphic Designer/Art Director winning numerous state
and national awards in advertising, marketing (VPA and SNA)
and printing (PIVA). Dana is an award-winning painter in oils. She is also an illustrator in pen & ink architectural renderings and Prismacolor and graphite pencil drawings.

Judith Thompson
Judith Thompson studied art at Syracuse University and later earned her MFA with Honors at the Tyler School of Art. Her commissioned works include sculptures, textiles, portraits and murals, and she has been featured in many notable publications and galleries, including the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.

Joseph Trigiani
Joseph studied painting at Montgomery College. He is an award-winning professional portrait and landscape artist.

Antonia Walker
Antonia Walker is known for her paintings of the Virginia countryside as well as her images of Italy and France. The artist received a BFA from the University of Georgia and later attended graduate school at George Washington University. Her work is in many private and public collections throughout the country and abroad including the Arts-in-Embassy program of the State Department and the NASA space program.

Chung Bae
Chung graduated from Towson State University in Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Communication. She has taught arts, crafts, origami and Korean language. Chung has experience in mural work, faux painting and furniture refinishing.

Conor Backman
Conor Backman was awarded a full scholarshiip to study art at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Backman is a self-taught artist who has been painting for about four years now. In April of 2007 Conor won "Best in Show" at the tenth district Congressional Art Show for the second year in a row. His painting "Two Chevies" will be shown in the capitol for one year along with the other winners of shows from every congressional district in the country.

Julie Cacciola
If you can learn to walk, then you can learn to draw. That is
Julie Cacciola's main philosophy regarding art. She believes talent is the result of practice and desire. If you have the heart, you can do anything!! Mrs. Cacciola began her teaching career in Bridgeport CT where she is a native. She has been teaching with the Loudoun County schools for the past 4 years. She enjoys all areas of the arts and is a practicing artist. Mrs. Cacciola earned her Bachelors degree in photography from the University of Delaware and her Master's of Education from the University of Bridgeport. She has taught all grade levels and loves the creativity and expression of child/adolescent art.

Lori DeMark
Lori DeMark has a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from
Penn State University and a Master of Art in Art Education from the University of Arizona. She has been a practicing artist and art educator for over 10 years. Lori has taught students in private, public, and higher education schools in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, and Virginia. Her favorite media to work with is printmaking and she also creates her own glass beads and sterling silver jewelry. She has exhibited work in Pennsylvania, New York, and Arizona.

Geoff DeMark
Geoff DeMark graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Art in Ceramics. He then received his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Sculpture from Ohio University. Before coming to Virginia, Geoff worked as an Artist Educator for the Tucson/Pima Arts Council and the Tucson Unified School District in Tucson, Arizona teaching hand-made tile and ceramics to high
school students. Geoff is currently an art teacher in the Loudoun County Public Schools. Geoff primarily works in mixed-media sculpture creating conceptual based art and with clay creating functional pottery. Geoff has exhibited his work in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona, New Mexico, and California.

Andy Farkas
Andy Farkas is an award-winning cartoonist and artist and has been drawing cartoons and creating art professionally for nearly 15 years. He is also an emerging print and book artist whose work has been exhibited nationwide in numerous galleries and institutions from which he has received accolades in the form of guest lectures, visiting artist workshops as well as artist residencies.

Gina Fera
Gina graduated cum laude from Kent State University and received a Bachelor of the Arts. She majored in Art Education with a minor in Secondary Education and Crafts. She earned a Virginia Certification in Art, preK-12. Gina teaches art in the Loudoun County public school system.

Karen Hassinger
Karen graduated from Mary Washington where she majored in studio art. She has taught all over the country and abroad including Texas, Florida and Hawaii, Bermuda and for the Dept. of Defense schools in Boeblingen, Germany. More recently, Karen has taught art for 6 years in Prince William Schools and is just finishing her third year at Loudoun County Schools. She was the winner of the Kodak Kinsa Photography award and has had several shows in the area. She will soon be showing black and white photography in the Middleburg bookstore "Books and Crannies."

Sabina Henry
Sabina graduated from Buffalo State College in New York where she received her Bachelor of Science in Art Education. She received her Masters in Art from Virginia Commonwealth University. Sabina has been teaching in the public school system for more than five years.. She has also taught Summer Art in South Carolina. Her concentrations are painting and sculpture.

Carol graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in art education. Carol has been teaching and creating art professionally for 30 years. She has received many awards and acknowledgments from her batiks, watercolors and drawings.

Aledra Hollenbach
Aledra Hollenbach enjoys sharing the magic made in art with children. After earning a masters degree in art education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, Aledra has taught art to all ages throughout her entire career. Aledra continues to learn and challenge herself along with her students.

Tim Kottcamp
Tim Kottcamp received his Masters Degree in Education from Arcadia University. His expertise includes math, language arts, special education and the "art of magic." He currently is an educator and self-employed Professional Magician.

Colleen Matthews
Colleen Matthews graduated cum laude from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Education, majoring in Art Education. She also studied art history in Greece through Arcadia University. Colleen earned a Virginia Certification in Art, preK-12. She is currently an Art teacher for Loudoun County Public Schools.

Alex Mayo
Recent graduate of West Virginia University with a BFA in pottery, Alex studied for four months in China. This profoundly influenced his work and how he views the key role clay played in the development of all cultures throughout the history of the world. Alex aspires to become a working artist in clay.

Joe Santoro
Joe Santoro has been puppeteering since 1993 and his puppets have appeared at numerous birthday parties, festivals, schools, libraries, and fairs throughout West Virginia. Joe has earned a West Virginia and Virginia Certification in Art, preK-12.
His puppets have appeared on The Today Show, local cable and PBS stations.

Eric Seat
Eric is a local freelance illustrator and painter. He received a BFA
in Communication Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University and
furthered his education through the Illustration Academy in Richmond, Virginia. Eric's work has received a number of awards including recognition from Communication Arts magazine, PRINT magazine, and the Society of Illustrators, among others. His illustrations have also been exhibited at the Museum of American Illustration in New York.

Krister Tracey
Krister Tracey received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting, drawing and photography from Bemidji State University in Minnesota, and his Master of Fine Arts degree in Multi-Media Installation from the University of Chicago. He is a professional artist, and has been an art teacher for nearly twenty years. He currently teaches at Evergreen Mill Elementary School in Leesburg.

Mizue Croswell
Mizue has an MFA, with a concentration in ceramics, from George Washington University. She has over 13 years experience in ceramics and has given several wood-firing workshops to professional potters and artists. Mizue is also an experienced teacher of students in local elementary schools.
